Meet your Coach: Adam Nutt, PGA

Years of Experience + Coaching Background

I began teaching in 2018 while working at Lake Padden Golf Course in Bellingham, Washington. From August 2021 to October 2024, I was based in Arizona at The Club at Prescott Lakes. I joined The Club at Snoqualmie Ridge in February of this year.
 
What You Specialize In
        
I don’t currently specialize in one specific area of the game, but short game and putting are definitely my favorite parts to teach. I’ve worked with players of all ages and skill levels, always with the goal of helping them build confidence on the course—and most importantly, enjoy the game and have fun!
 
Your Coaching Philosophy or Approach

Golf is a game where we’re ultimately competing against the course—and ourselves. So why not bring that same mindset to practice? I like to make it fun by blending instruction with games and friendly competition.
That said, many of us tend to have pretty high expectations. And the more we improve or the longer we play, the tougher we can be on ourselves. That’s why managing expectations is a big part of my approach. I often use PGA Tour stats to help put things into perspective. For instance, most people assume they should be sinking the majority of their 8-foot putts. But the reality is that even the best players on the PGA Tour only make those putts about 50% of the time!
I really believe that having this kind of perspective in the back of your mind—whether you're practicing or playing—helps manage expectations and frees you up to play your best golf, instead of being overly self-critical all the time.
 
Favorite Part About Coaching at a Private Club
 
Events like this are especially enjoyable for me because I get to work with individuals at all different skill levels. Reviewing something as simple as how to set up for a pitch shot can be a helpful refresher for experienced players and a valuable learning moment for those who are new to the game.
 
Fun Fact or Personal Touch
I’m a big Seattle Mariners fan and try to catch games in person whenever I can—but I’m just as happy watching on TV or tuning in on the radio.

My last name is Nutt, and I’m actually allergic to all kinds of nuts!
